Lawrence Brownlee’s first aria collection with orchestra, Virtuoso Rossini Arias was recorded with Constantine Orbelian and the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra on the Delos label. Astoundingly prolific during his career, Rossini wrote 39 operas. Most opera-lovers today, however, are able to see only a small percentage of them performed. Virtuoso Rossini Arias offers a selection of rarely heard arias drawn from several of Rossini’s less performed operas, along with favorites from some of the composer’s best known works.
